TECHNICAL OFFICE

Our technical offices are at the edge of technology.  We have working stations with specialized software for wooden structure, which will make your ideas, a reality.

Software used

In the first place, we use software from Mitek, i.e.: eFrame and Engineering Canadian edition for the creation of roof structures. We also use the software Plantek Professional which enables us to take images in various formats, to level and scale them, and that allows us to take measures directly on the image. This software also enables us to make a semi-transparent superposition of the floor joists and roof trusses layout that we have created, directly above the client's original plan. This process eliminates a lot of potential errors. Our assembly drawings are made with AutoCAD.  We also have several small utilities software to help us calculate beams, floor joists, special snow loads, etc.

Material used
Our working stations have modern computers which run under Windows XP Professional, and which are equipped with dual-screen to increase the productivity.

ordi

We have a giant digitizer to digitize your plans, which helps us for the creation of the structure by avoiding the obstruction of our desks.  And it allows us to take measures directly on the digitized plans.

scanner

We have a multifunction printer which prints on 11" X 17" paper to make our assembly drawings.  It is connected on the network, and thus it is also our principal fax machine, accessible by all the working stations.  It also helps us to recycle by re-using the back of our used 8.5" X 11" paper for the reception of our faxes.  We also make use of it to digitize all the files at the end of the year to keep a numerical copy of all our projects for future reference.

For special impressions, we also have a color laser printer on the network.

To finish, we have a 12" laminator that allows us to laminate our assembly drawings. That enables you to finish your project, whatever weather you encounter, before the  assembly drawing is made unusable.

FACTORY

Our factory is equipped with the latest technologies in the field of the manufacturing of wooden structures.  That gives us an advantage of being able to offer very short delivery time to our customers, and to respect them! But it also allows us to offer a high quality product, manufactured with a very high degree of accuracy.

Sawing
For sawing, we have three saws. Two Mangotech Apollo and one Mitek Easyset.  The three are automated, and wired to our internal network.

Operation is as follows, after having made the structure design, we use a software to make the sorting of the necessary pieces of wood.  This software is setup so that certain length or certain style of parts will be cut on whichever saw is appropriate.  Then the information is automatically sent to the respective saws.  Information of the trusses is also sent to our laser projection system during the same process.

Then, the sawyer goes in the software of the saw, select the project he wants to cut, and the saw will automatically move for the next part to cut.  After having cut that part, the sawyer collects wood for the next part, and while he does that, the saw will place itself for the next part to cut.  And so on.
Sawing is thus very fast, and the precision is below 1/16".

ASSEMBLY

Roof trusses
The assembly of the roof trusses is done mainly on a dedicated table, which comprises a 50 tons press. A laser projection system traces the image of each roof truss directly on the table, which makes it possible to accelerate considerably the setup of the mould to make the truss. Then we have two projectors systems which show the roof trusses on the wall on 4' X 8' screens. This system makes it possible to show the roof truss being made, to every worker at the same time, and also makes it possible to have the information of the next truss to manufacture, so that a worker can begin to collect the material for the next truss. The other advantage of this system is the considerable reduction in paper use. Indeed, before the installation of this system, for the information of the trusses to circulate well between the workers, it was necessary to have two or three sheets with each roof trusses. Even then, not all workers had the information in hand at all times.  With the projectors, it is the case, all the workers have the same information at any time, just looking at the wall.

We also have a second assembly table for the roof trusses that we use for the smaller trusses, the monos trusses, the floor joists, etc

Ladders
Our new ladders assembly table is very ergonomic. Work is thus faster and it is less physically challenging for the worker.

Walls
Our walls assembly table is simple to use and allows us to make walls between 3' and 9' in height. Its operation is mainly pneumatic. With this equipment, we are able to make walls for a complete project in a very short period of time.
